FMAP Awards Night 2016: Local fund managers recognize partner brokers

The Fund Managers Association of the Philippines (FMAP) gave recognition to their partner brokers in the recently concluded Annual FMAP Awards Night last July 21, 2016 at The Penthouse 8747 in the Lepanto Building, Makati City. Hosted by the President of FMAP, Ms. Josefina T. Tuplano, the Board of Trustees and the Board of Senior Advisers of FMAP, this is the sixteenth year that the key players of the financial markets industry gathered to vote for the best fixed income and equity brokers.

Awardees across 23 different categories were determined based on the polls from each of FMAP’s 49 member institutions. Individual awards honor analysts, traders and sales people who were chosen as the best in their respective sectors of coverage. The prestigious “Company of the Year” award was also presented to the listed corporation that money managers deemed to be most favored.

The awards evening was graced by the presence of BSP Governor Amando M. Tentangco, Jr., BSP Deputy Governor Nestor A. Espenilla, Jr., National Treasurer of the Philippines Honorable Roberto B. Tan and Philippine Stock Exchange President & CEO Mr. Hans B. Sicat, all of whom are valuable partners in fostering the rapid development of the Philippines capital markets.

FMAP is an organization of a diverse mix of equity and fixed income fund managers from bank trust groups, mutual funds, investment houses, insurance companies, corporate retirement funds, and government financial institutions. Currently, there are forty seven member institutions composed of more than 200 member individuals. The organization was formed in April 1997 to foster the development of the capital markets by contributing to the enhancement and promotion of highest ethical and professional standards in the fund management industry.
