Given the relatively high premium paid to Philippine stocks because of the market’s bullish outlook on the country, representatives from Bloomberg, Pamela Kustas and Heng Hock Chuan, took the time to talk about the opportunities that investors can get from investing in value stocks. They illustrated how Bloomberg can be of a convenient use to select stocks that will fit a certain set of criteria that the users define.
To validate the effectiveness of the model, a back test was conducted where it was proven that the portfolio comprised of value stocks was able to outperform the index. In this long running bull market, it wouldn’t hurt for investors to put money on value stocks–truly a safety net in case the market suddenly crashes.
